Organisers have issued an urgent final reminder about the closing date for the 2005
Comrades Marathon which is strictly Tuesday, 3 May 2005.

Final qualifying races take place throughout the country this long weekend and the organisers, already
processing thousands, are bracing themselves for the last minute deluge which has become an annual
tradition, as thousands of runners wait until the last possible minute to commit themselves to the grueling
world famous event.

Acting CEO, Cheryl Winn has once again reiterated the procedure for entry as follows:

-          Entries must be either postmarked or hand-delivered to Comrades Marathon House, 18 Connaught
Road, Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg by Tuesday, 3 May.

-          or they can enter online at
www.comrades.com.

-          CMA staff will also be on hand from 07h00 to 18h00 at the ticket office, Sahara Stadium, Kingsmead -
Durban (corner NMR Ave & Old Fort Road) on closing date Tuesday, 3 May to accept entries.

-          Entries may also be handed in at any one of the 20 branches of Sportsman's Warehouse countrywide
or at the two branches of the Sweatshop in Gauteng (Dunkeld Shopping Centre and Fourways Crossing) by
Tuesday, 3 May.

-          Runners not in possession of cheque or credit card facilities may deposit their entry fee of R130 at
any branch of Nedbank or People's Bank countrywide. The account is held by Nedbank, Branch Code
130526, Account No. 1305846532. Runners must write their name and identity number on the deposit slip
and attach the deposit slip to their entry form and post it to Comrades Marathon, PO Box 843,
Pietermaritzburg, 3200.

“The 2005 Comrades Marathon will be the 80th running of the world's oldest and greatest ultramarathon
and it is going to be a spectacular event. We are therefore committed to assisting runners in whatever way
we can to get their entries in so that they can be part of this special celebratory edition of the race," said
