Over 150 of the country’s finest bodyboarders are expected to converge
on Margate Main Beach (KZN south coast) from 1 to 3 April for the ninth
annual Wimpy Rossi Pro-Am. Following last year’s record turnout as
well as an increase in event status, organisers are anticipating a
bumper number of entries.

Upgraded to a 5-A rated contest, the Wimpy Rossi Pro-Am now boasts
cash and prizes to the value of R30 000 which will be split amongst the
various divisions. The Wimpy Rossi Pro-Am is the third event on the
hotly contested 2004 SABA circuit and is hosted by the Southern KZN
Bodyboarding Association.

Divisions include pro, boys, juniors, men, women, masters, drop knee,
under 12 boys, under 16 girls and a development section which is
designed to provide a golden opportunity for young stars to showcase
their talent.

In addition to the generous prizes there will be valuable South African
Bodyboarding Association (SABA) rating points up for grabs which
accumulate over the year to determine the ultimate SABA champion as
well as national team selection.

Organisers have opted to utilise a three day contest window period in
order to stage the two day event in the best surf that the venue has to
offer.

This popular tournament is sponsored by the Wimpy Margate and
Rossi Bodyboards.

Entries close on 29 March. To download entry forms interested riders
